The Least Skipperling is the tiniest skipper to visit my garden.  It is perhaps the brightest colored, as well.  It flies very close to the ground.  Prior to 2002, I have only seen this skipper two or three times, and only for one day.  In 2003, I had one that hung around for a few weeks.  Last year I saw one almost every day in my garden, and saw two together on several occasions.  The amount of gold coloring in the Least Skipperling's forewings is highly variable, as can be seen in the pictures on the left.
