Ligustrum vulgare - Privet

Ligustrum vulgare - Privet

I planted two privet bushes on the shady side of the house in my bed of pachysandra.  I started them from suckers that were growing around my former neighbor's privet bush.  This is the same privet people use for hedges.  I'm letting mine grow into full sized bushes that will be covered with white flower clusters from late June until mid-July.  Ligustrum vulgare - Privet The flowers are very fragrant.  They probably won't get as many flowers in the shade as they would if they were planted in the sun.  I also like the fact that they hold their leaves into early December.
