Chrsynthemum coccineum - Painted Daisy

Chrysanthemum
coccineum - Painted Daisy "James Kelway"

The "James Kelway" variety of Painted Daisy grows 2'-3' tall when blooming, which it does for a short time in late May.  The ferny foliage remains attractive throughout the growing season.  It is supposed to be divided after two years of flowering to keep it vigorous.  Painted Daisies are easy to grow from seed.  I started out with seven plants, but have lost six to winter kill the last two years.  I'm planning on starting some new plants from seed this year.
