I planted my redbud tree in 1994.  It is a small tree that blooms for about three weeks beginning in mid-April.  Practically every branch is covered with its small flowers.  Redbud is an "understory" tree, meaning it can grow in the shade of other trees.  I have a groundcover of periwinkle growing underneath it, along with ten blue Wood Hyacinths.
